Purchasing Officer

6 Month contract


£25,000 to £28,000

An excellent opportunity for a Purchasing Officer to join a leading manufacturer based in their Belfast facility. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager your main duties will include:

  • Timely order placement, order expediting, maintenance of delivery dates, communicating with Production, highlighting issues to Senior Purchasing Officer.
  • Control and reduction of costs, ensuring best value is obtained from suppliers and negotiating
  • Supplier measurement and management: interacting with suppliers on pricing and delivery
  • Management of material shortages
  • Maintenance of data within ERP system, ensuring data is accurate and obtaining information from suppliers as necessary
  • Work closely with Materials Control team to maintain accuracy of stock and assist with stock issuing

Essential Criteria

  • 2 years' experience in a purchasing position, ideally within manufacturing or a related industry
  • Excellent IT Skills
