Job description
Our client requires a highly motivated individual to undertake the role of a QA Assistant to monitor and verify all food safety, legality and quality procedures as outlined within the company's Food Safety and Quality Management System whilst also ensuring health and safety.
Your duties will include:
* Monitoring and verification checks throughout the factory, including temperature, CCPs and pre-requisite requirements
* Accurately complete all required paperwork
* Butchery checks to ensure that product meets customer specifications
* Internal auditing
* Investigate non-conformances
* Verify completed investigation of non-conformances and customer complaints
* Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene rules in the factory environment
* Assist in preparation for customer visits, third party and internal audits
* Any other duties within the competency of the job as directed by management
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills / qualifications / attributes - Essential Criteria:
* GCSE Maths & English, grade A-C, or equivalent
* IT literate * Excellent communication skills both written and oral
* Excellent problem solving skills without compromise to food safety, legality or quality
* Excellent work ethos
* Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
* Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
* Good time keeping skills
* Performance driven and customer oriented
* Must be flexible and able to adapt to new challenges in an everchanging manufacturing environment
Desirable Criteria:
* Previous experience in quality assurance or similar role
* Qualification in a food science related subject
* Knowledge of HACCP and BRC quality management systems - Qualifications in this area desirable
* Knowledge of red meat sector
* Internal auditing experience
Hours of work: 40 hours Monday - Friday (exact hours of work to be confirmed). Please note flexibility may be required to suit operational requirements.
