Job description

JOB TITLE - QUALITY INSPECTOR

JOB PURPOSE:

To take responsibility for Quality Control ensuring that all goods released to customers are to the expected standards in accordance with 1S090001, 2000 & PS9000, 2001 and ensure that all paperwork and production processes are adhering to QC SOP's

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To comply with current systems of working including various shift patterns.
  • To "walk the floor" advising and supporting operators on quality issues
  • To be familiar with and assist in collating customer expectations and tolerance levels
  • To inspect each order in accordance with final release procedures and agreed sampling plans
  • To make quality judgements when required, taking into account individual customer quality requirements
  • Train and advise operators on best practice and customer specifications when appropriate
  • To conduct housekeeping audits and actively promote good housekeeping and feedback to managers and team leaders with appropriate improvement actions
  • Complete internal quality audits
  • To co-ordinate rework and inspection of returned goods
  • Inspect all quarantined goods
  • Complete all paperwork as appropriate including certificates of conformity in line with best practice
  • To review the overall quality system and report discrepancies to the Quality manager
  • To support production in achieving daily/weekly production targets
  • To comply and promote at all times the guidelines outlined in the established quality systems complying with ISO9002 and PS 9000 quality standards.
  • To complete reports and data input tasks
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives in production.
