Job description

Quantity Surveyor | Dublin North | Part-time | €58-63k per annum (pro rata)

Our client has been established for over 40 years within the private housing market and are now recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Dublin North. The company are experiencing some growth and expanding the business, and they are offering this position as a 6 month contract on a part-time basis. You will be responsible for the cost management of the development, from products used to suppliers and contractors working within the development. It is essential that the Irish Water code of practice is implemented on-site

Hours of work: 20-25 hrs per week

Contract: 6 month contract (will be reviewed after the 6 months)

Role:

  • Pricing of construction work on-site including ground works and material
  • Tendering contracts for site work
  • Work in line with company compliance requirements and accounts procedures
  • Keep up to date with costings for site
  • Liaise with Engineers and the site contractors to oversee the installation of pipe work in accordance with Irish Water code of practice
  • Ensure all paperwork is in accordance with IW COP manual is recorded and filed with Irish Water folder for review
  • Certificates for pipe work and materials used is recorded in the IW file
  • Liaise with Engineers to schedule all relevant water ground and ground test to the IW guidelines

Requirements:

  • Qualified or working towards a degree within the Construction Management/Project Development sector, or 2-3 years equivalent relevant experience
  • Flexibility and team spirit will be key
  • Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are important. You will be expected to work off your own initiative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Accurate, high speed data entry skills and good typing skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong organisational skills and multi-tasking abilities

  • Attractive salary of €30-34 p/hour (equivalent to €58-63k per annum)
