Job description

Staffline are working in partnership with the Northern Ireland Civil Service to recruit a temporary Ranger (stormont) to start ASAP for a duration of 6 Months (initially)

Pay rate: 0-12 week's £8.72pr hour

13+ week's £10.70pr hour

Location: Belfast, BT4

Hours: 16 hours approximately (potential for additional hrs throughout the week as daylight hours increase)

Saturday - Sunday (possible evening hrs throughout the week as daylight hours increase)

Essential Criteria

  • Possession of a full driving licence and access to a means of transport;
  • Ability to work bank holiday weekends.
  • Reading and writing skills to record visitor information requirements
  • An interest in the environment with local history

Duties

  • Opening, closing and checking security of buildings and setting alarms where appropriate;
  • Ensuring that the facilities are open during advertised times and providing the required level of service
  • Assisting with the operational running of the site
  • Site inspections
  • Litter inspections
  • Cash handling on site e.g. admission charges
  • Supervision of visitor groups and exhibitions
  • Ensuring the care and safe handling of Historic Environment Division property and exhibits and sensible and safe use of property by visitors
  • Money/financial/cashier duties
  • Completing personal time sheets and other such returns
  • Undertake general duties for site and depot maintenance, including (but not limited to) grass cutting, hedge cutting, digging trenches, erect sheds and huts on site, cleaning of equipment and facilities, operating lifting gear
  • Drive Departmental vehicles from depot to sites, including transport of colleagues and materials
  • Completing personal time sheets and other such documentation
