Receptionist

The Client: Local Government body based in Co Down, serving local residents
The Role:
- Provision of a full range of receptionist services including dealing with the public in person, by telephone and by email in accordance with customer care standards. Operation of the switchboard ensuring calls are correctly diverted and messages received promptly delivered
- Process bookings for tours, workshops, activities and events, this includes maintaining the bookings diary and sending out and processing booking forms
- Accurate processing of retail sales, including the operation of a computerised Electronic Point of Sales system in compliance with statutory administrative and financial procedures
- Reconciliation of cash and processing lodgements in compliance with statutory financial procedures
- Provision of clerical and administrative support to include word processing, creating and maintaining databases, recording monthly visitor numbers, filing and maintenance of records
- Operate CCTV system as required
- Assisting as required with Health & Safety/Security requirements eg reporting occurrences, fire drills etc Ensure all Health & Safety legislation, published relevant guidelines and policies and procedures are complied with in relation to the services and activities within the facility
Hours of work: 37 hrs per week
Requirements:
- Five GCSE passes at Grade A-C, NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent
- A minimum of one years' experience in a similar role with a working knowledge of computer packages to include database experience
- A minimum of 6 months experience in a customer services environment or reception post
- Where applicants do not hold the qualifications, they must demonstrate a minimum of three years' experience as outlined above
- Experience in the operation of a computerised booking/cash system
