REGISTERED MANAGER - SHORTBREAKS

40 HOURS PER WEEK - PERMANENT

£30,000 - £33, 800 PER ANNUM

  • Mainstay is looking for an experienced Registered Manager to lead and Manager their new model of short break services for adults with disabilities in Northern Ireland. You will need to be dynamic and forward thinking, with exceptional leadership skills, have experience of manging staff teams and budgets.
  • Our Short breaks service will be vibrant, guest centred, and staff will be empowered to be creative and motivated to deliver care and support that enhance the lives of all the guests and provide an environment that helps them flourish.

Who we're looking for

You'll have previous experience of managing a successful Care/day or respite service delivery or care home and hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Residential Management. A confident leader with excellent communication skills, you'll be comfortable building relationships and collaborating with other health professionals and wider health teams. Someone who can help us grow our short breaks business model, set and deliver KPI's, budgets and business plans.

Above all, you're passionate about caring for others, putting our guests at heart of every decision you make. Leading by example, you'll share best practise and cultivate an open and honest culture amongst your team to help delivering outstanding service to guests using the service while delivering our business objectives.

Registered Manager Duties:

As the Registered Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of the running of the service, you will be responsible for the operational day-to-day management of the service ensuring Mainstay compliance with relevant legislation, this includes but not limited to -

  • Ensuring that staffing levels and competencies meet the requirements of the service and its guests
  • Overseeing referrals, admissions, and ensuring the service within registration requirements.
  • Ensuring each guest has a care and support plan that reflects his or her emotional, care, education, social, therapeutic, and cultural needs
  • Regularly reviewing and updating the placement plan
  • Along with the Respite panel allocating each guest, a key worker who is responsible for the implementation of the care and support plan
  • Building relationships with parents, carers and other professionals in relation to the support provided to each child
  • Ensure the health needs of each guest is documented and staff have the skills and competencies to support those needs including behaviour that may challenge.
  • Manging budgets effectively
  • Ensuring continuous improvement within the service working closely with colleagues in quality and compliance.
  • Ensuring that staffing levels and competencies meet the requirements of the service and its guests
  • Ensuring new staff receive an induction and that each member of staff has a personal development plan
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of the statutory and procedural framework for residential care and communicating this to the wider team
  • Providing leadership and supervision to the wider team
  • Working in partnership with other colleagues within the charity to support positive outcomes
  • Working with our fundraising teams to identify opportunities to enhance the environment and experience for the children using the service.

Service Manager Duties:

  • Develop the Short Stay business model to bring in private income for the charity
  • Deliver the business plan and KIP's for the service
  • Support the expansion of the service across NI
  • Work alongside the Leadership team to develop and deliver the wide Mainstay strategy

Requirements for this role:

  • at least three years in a position relevant to the residential care of adults with severe and complex learning disabilities
  • at least three years in a role requiring the supervision and management of staff working in a care role
  • experience of managing, setting and delivering at least one million pound of budget
  • Highly commercial, and has experience of taking an entrepreneurial approach to gaining and maximising income and return on investment
  • The Manager must be deemed suitable by RQIA ( Regulation and Quality Improvement Authority). As a "fit" person and Qualified to be a registered person.

It's also important that you have:

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate others.
  • Good English, numeracy and digital skills.
  • The ability to think strategically.
  • Good project management and organisational skills.
  • IT skills

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • 40 Hours per week - Permanent Post
  • Salary £ 30,000 to £33,800
  • 25 annual Leave days per year

Your hours will be on a rota basis to ensure appropriate on call cover within the service to include on call duties at weekends and holiday periods (any additional hours will be paid for).
