Senior Engineer

Dublin

Salary €45,000 to €55,000



Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out a range of power system studies and analyses to investigate and justify grid investments
  • Approach problem solving with an innovative mindset, being open to a wide range of technology solutions
  • Prepare presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholder engagement to senior management level
  • Liaise closely and maintain good working relationships with other parts of EirGrid Group and with stakeholders such as the Distribution System Operator, Transmission Asset Owner, regulator, consultants and contractors
  • Contribute positively and proactively to the development, review and improvement of transmission network planning procedures, methodologies and documentation to ensure their robustness, consistency and accuracy
  • Liaise regularly with the Team Lead and Head of Future Networks to ensure issues are raised in a timely manner, and propose potential solutions

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • A degree in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline with at least 4 years post-qualification experience
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical power systems and proven experience carrying out power system modelling and analysis
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong track record of delivery
  • Self-motivation, enthusiasm and capable of delivering in the context of changing parameters/requirements
  • Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, while also being able to define and guide own work under minimal supervision
  • Experience conceiving and introducing innovative ideas, solutions or new ways of doing things
