Shipping and Receiving Manager

Belfast

£35,000 to £50,000 depending on experience

An excellent opportunity for a Shipping Manager to join one of NI's leading manufacturing companies. Leading the shipping and logistics team and reporting to the Operations Director your main duties will include:

• Coordinate the activities of all shipping and receiving associates
• Coordinate logistics and accurate receiving of incoming materials from vendors
• Support the logistics team in organizing and prioritizing customer deliveries to ensure products are received by the deadline listed on the order
• Ensure that transportation modes, frequency of transports and routing are as efficient and as cost effective as possible
• Negotiate transportation services and rates with various carriers
• Analyze the financial impact of proposed changes to the operations of the logistics department, and provides feedback
• Assist in the selection of carriers based on qualifications and performance evaluations
• Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations regarding logistics
• Create and updates policies and procedures for all logistics activities
• Interface with customs agencies and freight brokers to expedite international shipments

Essential Criteria

• 5 years Shipping and Receiving experience.
• 2 years minimum supervisory experience within Shipping and Receiving
• Knowledge of Oracle business system would be advantageous
• Experience in leading a team, with evidenced coaching and personnel development skills.
