Software Developer - Public Sector

Grafton Recruitment is currently seeking to recruit an experienced Software Developer for our client, a prominent public sector organisation. Based in their Dublin City Centre office, this role will be offered on a contract basis until December 2020, with a strong possibility of extension upon completion.

The Role:

Reporting to the Business Systems Development Manager, the role will focus on supporting the development and implementation of both advancements to existing related Business Systems and other new related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high quality software solutions using the followingtoolsets
    • Professional standards-based web development using ASP.NET, HTML/HTML5,
      • CSS/CSS3, and jQuery
    • .NET based language (C#)
    • Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online and On Premise
    • Microsoft Dynamics Portals
    • Visual Studio 2010 / 2012+
    • Source Control: TFS (Visual Studio Team Services) / GitHub
  • Write technical documentation associated with development activities
  • Day-to-day support and maintenance of the software applications in accordance with the approved policies and
  • Ensure compliance of IT systems with regulatory
  • Ensure there is End User focus on the software being developed
  • Support, Coach and Mentor other members of the development team
  • Demonstrate software developed meets the functional requirements and expectations of the end
  • Assist System and User test resources in issue trouble shooting and resolution
  • Hands-on technical involvement in data related projects
  • In collaboration with others, help develop and maintain databases and data systems necessary for projects and department functions

  • Work closely with B.A.s assigned to the projects to help ensure timelines, quality and scope of requirements are met
  • Participate in business meetings and provide meaningful input that help translate the business language into technical language and vice versa
  • Provide both coding and non-coding solutions according to business requirements
  • Propose alternative solutions to business problems or opportunities

Interested applicants will meet the following requirements:

  • ICT related third level qualification or equivalent is essential
  • The following experience and qualifications are seen as desirable for the role:

*PowerShell scripting
*Microsoft Certifications in Microsoft Dynamics CRM or ASP.NET development
*Microsoft Reporting Services
*Microsoft Windows Server 2008/2012
*Microsoft Internet Information Services 7.0+
*Microsoft SQL Server
*Visual Studio + TFS
*SQL Server Integration Services

  • Public sector experience and /or an understanding of publicly funded programmes
  • Capable of generating ideas in collaboration with others (through brainstorming, mind- mapping etc.) and translating them into practical solutions

A salary in the region of €48,000 along with benefits will be on offer to the successful candidate.
