Testing Manager | £40,000 to £45,000 per annum

Staffline are currently recruiting for a temporary, full time Testing Manager to work within a thriving Belfast city centre office. This contract will span 12 - 15 months

The ideal candidate will have a highly technical background with experience in managing a team and capability to manage and work to tight deadlines.

We are looking for a proactive, structured individual with a strong ability to work under their own initiative, excellent problem solving and analytical skills and can recognise and flag issues outside of their own expertise.

Key duties and responsibilities

Management

• Responsibility for day to day management of the testing team
• Performance management
• HR matters including absence, grievance and disciplinary issues
• Mentor team members and lead by example in both technical and non-technical aspects of the job
• Tracking and reporting progress on testing against programme plan interfaces
• Can interface and positively influence project teams and SMEs within the business

Testing

• Responsible for the delivery of the test strategy for UAT, End to End and Regression testing including any modification to the strategy to meet the project specific requirements
• Responsible for liaising with the supplier on defect fixes
• Provides analysis for test metrics and appropriately prioritises test tasks within management guidelines to ensure effective testing

Essential Criteria

• Familiar with testing in one or more specialist areas (e.g. system usability testing, stress/load testing, testing of voice applications)
• Experience in deriving system test scripts from documented requirements and the ability to identify and manage undocumented requirements
• Sound understanding of the use of test metrics to provide accurate reporting, assessing, prioritising and managing incidents to closure
• Sound understanding of techniques for ensuring test coverage and traceability and awareness of test development tools and best practice as applied to software testing
• Experience working with client and supplier teams in a fast paced software delivery environment
• Experience of any test management tools
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills including stakeholder management
• Capability to manage and work to tight deadlines
• Educated to GCSE/A level (or equivalent)
• Graduate/professional qualification (or equivalent work related experience)

£40,000-£45,000 per annum (dependant on experience)

Full time hours - 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
