Job description




The role of a Van-Sales Representative will be to sell and distribute a range of our Clients branded products to our customers.

Key Responsibilities - Operations

  • Develop sales of the clients Food products within the Retail and Food service sector in the specific regions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers with the aim of achieving key customer sale targets and minimising the threat of competitors.
  • Achievement of sales & returns budgets in line with given targets and company standards.
  • Successfully implement and control promotional activity and new product launches.
  • Interface & provide feedback to Management regarding marketplace activities.
  • Report on sales trends, competitor activity & canvass new business.
  • Ability to gain new customers & develop existing business.
  • Develop customer service standards and issue resolution.
  • Merchandising and shelf space management.
  • Attend weekly team meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to company practices & procedures.

Key Responsibilities - People

  • Training & Development of new Van Sales representatives as required.
  • Delivering goals and objectives of the van sales team.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and standards, including Health & Safety, ensuring that the team operates within legal and best management guidelines.
  • Communicate key updates to the Field Sales Rep.


  • Increase sales and maintain in line with Company targets
  • Build and maintain Customer relationships
  • Win new business
  • Manage KPIs within targets - Margin %, SOR, CPI, SP & Range
  • Adding value - continuous improvement

Knowlege and Skills

  • Ability to meet sales targets and achieve results
  • Highly organised and ability to plan
  • Enthusiastic and dedicated to provide excellent customer service - customer focused.
  • Inherent interest in food and appreciation of contemporary consumer eating trends.
  • Advanced knowledge of internal operating procedures

  • Full clean driving license
  • At least 3 years team management experience
  • Field sales experience
  • Previous FMCG experience is essential
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Knowledge of Food safety & Hygiene standards
