To provide a customer focused advice and tourist information service to visitors to the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre and undertake a range of visitor service activities and administrative duties to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the Centre.
To ensure that all responsibilities are carried out in a timely and effective manner and that general confidentiality is maintained in all issues relating to the work of the Centre and the Council.
To provide a customer focused advice and information service and act as the first point of contact for tourists and visitors using the Centre. Record and respond to all enquiries including those made in person, by telephone, in writing and via email.
To provide information, literature, advice and guidance as appropriate to promote Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre programmes and facilities, Limavady Borough tourist attractions and programmes, Causeway Coast and Glens and Sperrins Tourism regions, and Northern Ireland as visitor 'must see'
To operate appropriate computerised and manual reservation and booking systems including the operation of an automated internet based reservation and information
To assist in the preparation and updating of literature and online content as directed including collation and proofing of all promotional literature maps, guides and accommodation
Update relevant tourism information and input to the Council's tourism and events website contributing to on line and out of hours information for visitors.
To procure, maintain, store and display promotional material relating to Northern Ireland accommodation, activities and attractions. Source a range of literature and general information from other contacts e.g. Tourist Information Centres, Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Tourism
To assume responsibility for retail sales within the Centre Gift Shop and assist the Tourism Development Officer to manage stock control. Continually review, monitor and replenish levels of stock of all retail As directed, place orders, receive deliveries, report discrepancies, record stock, price and display goods. Compile and update related reports and complete associated administration.
Maintain records and statistics of visitor activity in accordance with Northern Ireland Tourist Board requirements and prepare monthly reports for TDO and
Attend promotions arranged by sub regional organisations g. representing Council at stands with the Causeway Coast & Glens, Rural Tourism Partnership promoting Northern Ireland at different venues as required.
